Winter at Pinehurst

Conditions Update - Fri 1/9/2026 (Photos Below):

Covered in ice. Two rain events this week have left the park in pretty rough shape. Until we get more snow, trail surfaces will remain ice-covered. The good news is that we have a strong base of snow that is withstanding the warmth and rain. Walkways from the parking lot to the shelter are very icy - use caution.

  • Sledding - Bumpy and icy. Even climbing up the hill may be difficult.

  • Ice Rinks - Currently closed until Sun Jan 11th to recover from the rain.

  • Terrain Park - Tried to groom with the snowmobile on Fri Jan 9, but our drag groomer is no match for the ice. Park will remain ice-covered until we get more snow.

  • XC Ski Trails - Last groomed on 12/30/2025. Hard pack & ice covered.

  • Snowshoe Trails - Very icy. Recommend renting snowshoes from the warming shelter or bringing your own traction device like crampons or Yaktrax.

  • Terrain Park is built and groomed by OutdoorMore volunteers. This is a hike-up terrain park for skiers and snowboarders. THERE IS NOT A ROPETOW.
